“Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology is the instrument that the shareholders make available to the entrepreneur to allow him or her to coordinate the work of the human beings who master the specific technologies that are indispensable for client satisfaction, and to then forge them into teams with synergy and the ability to contribute, and lead them in the production of ever-increasing and improving moral and material wealth to be placed at the disposal of the client and the community”.
Survival, Growth and Perpetuity
Odebrecht Entrepreneurial Technology
The Fundamental Principles of TEO establish the cultural and ethical values that should guide business in Odebrecht:
Trust in people, in their capacity and desire to progress;
Client Satisfaction achieved by serving them with an emphasis on quality, productivity and socio-environmental responsibility;
Return to Shareholders and a focus on increasing their equity;
Partnership among members, who participate in the planning and implementation of the work, and in the results that they generate;
Self-development of people, especially by means of Education through Work, assuring the survival, growth and perpetuity of the Group;
Reinvestment of results for the creation of new job opportunities and the development of communities.
All members of the Group must act in accordance with these principles, which constitute the essence of our shareholders´ intangible equity. These cultural and ethical principles, however, should never hinder professional initiative and creativity. On the contrary, they are designed to maximize the working capacity of each individual.
The TEO Essential Concepts ensure effectiveness and clarity in interactions between leaders and team members. In conjunction with the Fundamental Principles, they establish a common language among members, forming the Odebrecht Communication System.
Decentralization promotes ongoing and direct contact between the member and the client, resulting in a clear perception of the client's needs. Decentralization is also important for identifying and attracting new entrepreneurs to the organization;
Trust, when put into practice, takes the form of planned delegation. Leaders must be certain of the upright character of members and believe in the potential and ability of each professional and in his or her desire to progress, as well as in his or her adherence to the Group's Philosophical Concepts;
The Entrepreneurial Task consists of the identifying, winning, and satisfying the client – an ongoing and efficient process that ensures that challenges will be met with success;
All results must always flow from clients to shareholders, since valuing their moral and material equity is the main guarantee of the survival, growth and perpetuity of the Group.
There are eight General Criteria that influence the thinking and action of all of Odebrecht´s members:
The human being is the measure of all the Group’s values;
The entrepreneur must master his or her business in order to satisfy the client and the shareholder simultaneously;
Education through Work is inseparable from the Entrepreneurial Task;
Those who provide support to business managers must always be attentive to new opportunities and improved results;
The professional has the right to share in the results to which he or she has directly contributed and which can be measured, invoiced and paid for by the client;
The entrepreneur must always be open to recognizing his or her errors and be willing to quickly correct them;
The only image that matters and that makes a difference is the one that is built within the community, based on the satisfaction of each client and on a commitment to the well-being of all;
Leaders have the duty to promote their own health and that of every person that they lead, as well as to ensure safe operations, quality of life and environmental preservation of the communities in which they operate.
Each member fulfills his or her corporate responsibility through his or her quality work and productivity. For this purpose, it is necessary to:
Satisfy clients’ needs with products and services that improve the quality of life in communities;
Contribute to socio-economic, technological and corporate development in the sectors and countries in which the company operates;
Create work and development opportunities for people, including reinvesting the results obtained;
Generate wealth for the government and for society by collecting taxes and fees and by paying suppliers, members and shareholders;
Ensure ongoing respect for the environment in all corporate actions.
The company´s contribution to the community is supplemented by the Odebrecht Foundation's educational and income generation projects and by actions taken within businesses and small firms. The Group also sponsors cultural initiatives.
